2ndfundraiser

2nd Official Fundraiser coming up

After the relative success of our first official fundraiser in January, we’re doing it again!

Last month our 56 Hour Tweetathon raised an impressive £510. We intend to beat that result with our second fundraiser on 24th February. Writer/director Gary Spate will once again embark on a marathon no-sleep-athon, this time for 60 (yes, SIXTY!) hours. The plan is to raise around £2000 which will go a long way towards funding the equipment and other costs associated with the shooting of our intro sequence THIS SUMMER.

If you’ve arrived straight to this page from Twitter/Facebook without knowing what we’re actually fundraising for,  here’s a quick lowdown:

Fiveway Films is currently fundraising to produce the 100% FAN-FUNDED independent thriller/horror movie DEAD LIES. It will be shot in and around the beautiful Lincolnshire county including in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Lincoln. The story was devised in July 2011 and has been in the scriptwriting stage since then. Script is now close to completion. The movie has so far attached two amazing actors and one other recognisable face (if you’re a fan of football/soccer). David Anderson and Simon Burbage are both professional actors who, once we’d seen their showreels, we couldn’t refuse them a part. Former English Premier League footballer Gary Croft completes the movie’s terrible trio. This will be Croft’s first foray into acting but one he’s looking to grab hold of with both hands. We’re proud and honoured to have the three starring in our movie.

During the tweetathon Gary will be talking about the project, what’s happened so far, where he intends to go with the movie and maybe even a few snippets of info about the storyline itself which is still a closely guarded secret. The overriding aim of this tweetathon though is to raise as much cash as possible to ensure that the project runs on time, on budget and, most importantly, as successful as is humanly possible.

You can get involved in the tweetathon by ReTweeting (RT) some of the tweets over the course of the weekend, making a donation to our Film Fund and encouraging all your family, friends, colleagues and nextdoor neighbour to also do the same. This is YOUR movie project just as much as ours and we want to make it as good as we can under the constraints of a very modest budget (in independent film terms anyway).

We’re are currently on a mini campaign to get as many Twitter followers as possible, our TARGET 5000 was launched today with the aim of reaching 5,000 followers by the start of the fundraiser on the 24th. Please tell all your friends about our project and get them to follow us at @FivewayFilms
